ENVELOPES
The standard durable 65 gram fabric is the finest quality polyurethane coated rip-stop nylon. This is specially produced and treated so as to resist fading and fungal attack and to maintain its very high strength.
Our slightly heavier 90 gram Ultralast fabric is especially recommended in the top of the envelope where most of the heat is concentrated or in larger ride balloons which fly many hours a year and where weight is not quite so important. This material is coated with a special silicon coating both sides and has proved to give unbelievable service in the most extreme conditions. Both fabrics are available in 22 standard colours with special fabrics available to order.
Heavy duty Nomex is used at the mouth or bottom of the envelope to protect the most vulnerable to the heat of the burner. A team of design engineers equipped with the latest computer design aided technology work meticulously to ensure the exact reproduction of your requirements. Each and every seam on an Ultramagic envelope is carefully sewn together using a full fell seam with double stitching lock stitch to ensure the strongest fabric joint.
Heavy-duty polyester or nylon vertical load tapes are sewn in to the envelope to carry the load and every envelope has plenty of horizontal load tapes for added security. The load is transferred from the tapes to the load frame by flying wires, which are made from aircraft quality stainless steel, and these are secured to the envelope by means of a heavy-duty sewn joint. This point is then protected with Nomex for added security.
All Ultramagic envelopes include a full 1.5 m Nomex base and a standard parachute deflation system. Many optional extras are available including different deflation systems for rapid deflation and rotation vents to turn the balloon. Each and every Ultramagic envelope is personally inspected and tested by Josep and Carles Llado Costa, the Directors and owners of the company as well as the Civil Aviation Authority inspector. It is then issued with a Certificate of Airworthiness.
However as it is well known in the Aviation business, high quality is built and crafted into all Ultramagic envelopes and not just inspected in. Ask anyone who flies in one.
